There will be another meeting for the Spring Fling Committee at the home of Joe and Elizabeth Philipp at 9:00 A.M. on March 25.
Sponsors for the event are being sought, as well as more volunteers to help with this family oriented party.

Minutes of the last meeting, posted on the internet, were passed out.  There were no corrections.

Craig Bowman presented the treasurer’s report for treasurer Cass Prince who was unable to attend the board meeting.  The report reflected that 215 members have paid their 2006 dues to the UHAOH.

Jim Wells reported the directory is published and in the hands of the Block Captains who are responsible for passing them out.

Charles Schmidt reports BLUE BAG participation has quadrupled since the city started picking up blue bags on a weekly basis.  Charles has driven around UH each week, to see how many of us are using our blue bags.

Charles reports that the city is setting up a regular schedule of brush pick up in UH which will be the last week in every month.  He felt there needed to be clarification on what is considered to be the last week and will tell us of his findings at the board meeting in April.

TLCA representative, Rick Bidne, stated that the Las Colinas and City flags will be flown at half mast for one week in honor of Ben and Betty Carpenter who passed away last week.  Their memorial will be at 3:00 P. M. this afternoon at the Highland Park Presbyterian Church.  Rick expressed what a pleasure it was to have worked with such an outstanding pioneer and driving force in the Irving community.

The plans for the property at Rochelle and Northgate will come before the planning and zoning commission March 20th.  All people in UH are encouraged to attend the meeting to voice their objections to the project.  We really do need a large representative turnout to let the city fathers know how we feel.

Mr. Bidne stated that he is in conversation with our state representative, Linda Harper Brown in regards to the upcoming legislation, The Uniform Property Owners Act, that addresses the unjustified foreclosure that has been experienced in the Houston Area.  The Woodlands has already been written out of the act and TLCA is asking for the same exemption for Las Colinas.   The first hearing is in Austin on March 21st.

There was a discussion of the possibility of changing the time for our monthly board meeting.  We are trying to encourage greater participation  and some board mbrs. find it difficult to attend meeting at 7:30 A.M.  It was understood that we would be unable to meet at the country club at the noon hour.  Rick  Bidne offered their board room (pending availability) at TLCA.

Nell Ann Hunt made a motion to temporarily change the meeting time to 11:30 P.M. on the 1st Tuesday of each month.  Craig Bowman seconded the motion.  The motion passed unanimously.

The board unanimously reaffirmed the $1,500 appropriation in the budget for the Great Flag Caper for July 4. There'll be a "kick-off" planning time @ Nell Anne's home @ 6pm Sun May 21.

Charles stated that the Yard of the Month committee designated the home of Craig and Chris McCardle for March.  All board members are invited to adjourn there for our monthly photo-opportunity.

The board meeting was adjourned at 9:04.

Respectively submitted,
