UNIVERSITY HILLS
ASSOCIATION OF HOMEOWNERS
BOARD MEETING MINUTES
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 A. M. by president, Arnold Martin
Board members present were: Arnold Martin, Esther Nachimson, Charles Schmidt, John Taylor, Frank Murphy, Ted Olsen and Chris Wallace, representative from the TLCA. Members not attending were James Spriggs, Martin Kahn, Don McGee, Don Jensen and Nell Anne Hunt.
Treasurer’s report was not available. Treasurer, Don Jensen was unable to attend.
Minutes of the July meeting were presented, but not approved.
John Taylor reported he had found someone to be our webmaster, Jim Wells, a new resident, retired from IBM. Mr. Wells is donating his services. John’s goal is to have our web page up and running by mid to late September. We will have a University Hills web page, unexcelled by any other.
Work in Old Rochelle Park is almost completed. New benches have been installed and the re-enforcement of the pond wall that was collapsing is finished.
The board is very pleased with the results.
The survey cards sent to all UH homeowners have been slow to be returned. We are hoping our members will not put these cards aside, but send them in to report code violations to uphold the beauty and integrity of our UH neighborhood.
The board decided not to participate in the National Night Out, August 7, because we could not get the participation from the police department because of the many demands they had for the service from other HO association in Irving. It will be at another convenient, cooler date for us all.
Esther Nachimson asked that there be a protocol to keep us updated on new residents to UH. This could be done easily by E-mail. Other topics discussed for further study were making a membership directory; having stickers with emergency phone numbers (Chris said that TLCA would help); playground equipment for UH children.
There were no motions made or voted on.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:05.
The next meeting will be Tuesday, September 4, 2001 at the LCCC.
Respectfully submitted,
Esther Nachimson, Secretary
