UNIVERSITY HILLS
ASSOCIATION OF HOMEOWNERS
BOARD MEETING MINUTES
The September meeting of
the UHAOH was called to order at 7:48 A.M. at the Las Colinas Country
Club. Board members present were:
Arnold Martin, Esther Nachimson, Frank Murphy, Charles Schmidt, John Taylor,
Chris Wallace and Don McGee. Not present were Don Jensen, James Spriggs,
Martin Kahn and Nell Ann Hunt.
Arnold
Martin, gave an informal treasurer’s report in the absence of the treasurer,
Don Jensen. Nothing was filed. John Taylor asked if any progress had been
made in obtaining a credit card for the UHOAH.
We will be getting one in the near future from The Bank in Las
Colinas. The credit card will make it
easier for the treasurer to pay bills so that board members will not have to
pay for services out of pocket, i.e. the monthly charge for our web site,
www.universityhills.net.
The
minutes of the August meeting were presented and a motion was made for approval
by Don McGee and seconded by Frank Murphy.
The motion passed.
Charles
Schmidt gave an update on the Irving Public Works projects on Northgate. It was decided to send a letter to the IPW,
complementing them on the care given to the project, i.e., and no damage to
tress or to curbs. TLCA is monitoring
this effort carefully; Bobby Ortez is there on a daily basis. The project should be completed in 8
months.
The
survey cards sent to all homeowners with the last newsletter have been
dribbling in. There was a suggestion to
post the card on the Internet for homeowners to use when needed.
Don McGee
reported that a camera and hat had been left at the picnic in July.
John
Taylor reported that our second UHOH newsletter would be published on September
15. Articles for the letter were
suggested and assignments given.
We have
block captains for 90% of UH. This
system of communication will be the fastest and most economical.
Plans for
a membership directory, playground, Christmas decorations, phone and auto
stickers were discussed and in the pipeline for development.
A
Nieghborhood Watch Night had been proposed for October 14 at Flagpole
Hill. After a round of discussion Don
Jensen motioned to cancel the event.
Frank Schmidt seconded the motion.
The motion passed.
President Arnold Martin appointed the nominating committee for officers for next year: Don McGee, James Spriggs, and Esther Nachimson.
The next
board meeting will be Friday, October 2, 2001.
The meeting was adjourned.
