BOARD MEETING MINUTES

The meeting was called to order at 7:34 A. M.

Members present were: Arnold Martin, Esther Nachimson, Frank Murphy, and James Spriggs. Not present were: John Taylor, Martin Kahn, Charles Schmidt and Scott Wilson.

The minutes of the last meeting were not read.

The treasurer’s report was not given.

We still need a web-master for our web-site, www.universityhils.net

We agreed that the Spring Fling was a rounding success.

Old Rochelle Park is nearly completed. The city is planting 18 new trees, hopefully in areas around the benches so there will be shade. We discussed installing some play equipment in one the parks for our children to play on.

The sign toppers have been installed and they are doing the job they were intended to do---defining University Hills. We have several extra signs that can be used at UH functions. There is a need to find some donated space to store our bulky materials, being housed by board members at this time.

There is still a need for a few block captains and block majors.

Arnold Martin is going to tally the survey cards returned by homeowners. They define areas in UH that need improvement such as potholes, broken curbs, and individual yards not meeting TLCA standards.

August 7 has been designated as National Night Out. Safety of neighborhoods and neighborhood integrity will be stressed.

There were no motions.

The next board meeting will be Tuesday, August 7, 2001.
