YARD OF THE MONTH, AUGUST

All yard of the month winners receive a 50 dollar gift certificate for Calloway's nursery. The owners have lived in UH since 2001. They are the second owners. The original owners had a landscape plan made which the current residents followed. The home is currently for sale with the owners planning a move to Highland Park.

GREEN NEIGHBOR PROGRAM
The University Hills Home Owners Association is working with the Las Colinas Association to introduce the Green Neighbor program to all the
Las Colinas neighborhoods before the end of September. This program is to encourage the use of energy saving techniques in residential homes. Each
participating Las Colinas village will display a logo type sign approved for the program. Word will go out to each of the residents of participating
villages by the end of September and residential winners will be announced at the annual UHHOA meeting in November.
 
RED LIGHT PROGRAM
Some 700 tickets have been issued in the first month (June) of the Red Light Program introduced by the City of Irving to discourage those who would run
red lights, creating traffic hazards.
 
CORRIDOR ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM 
The City of Irving has introduced "beautifcation portals" (mini - parks) in various locations throughout the city. Closest to UH are the intersection
of MacArthur and Rochelle as well as the intersection of Riverside and SH161. Look for these in the near future.
 
STAGE 1 WATER RESTRICTIONS
The City of Irving has announced Stage One voluntary watering restrictions keeping the odd residential addresses for Wednesday and Sunday. Even
numbered addresses are Tuesday and Saturday with no watering between 10 am and 6 pm.
 
SANTA CLARA RESURFACING
Santa Clara is being resurfaced to repair damages incurred by construction of the new housing subdivision off Santa Clara.
